Samaritans Suicide Prevention Center received the 2015 Hope and Life Award “for extraordinary leadership in suicide prevention” from the Suicide Prevention Center of New York at a special ceremony on September 16, 2015.

Believing that “suicide is everybody’s business,” SPCNY honored and celebrated those who have made a difference and advanced the suicide prevention infinitives of the New York State Office of Mental Health throughout the state. Other awardees included Fred Meservey, Gary O’Brien, Patricia Breux and Cassandra Kahl (the original SPCNY team), Crisis Services of Erie County and other key leaders in the field.
