As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing suicide awareness and prevention throughout NYC’s diverse communities, Samaritans participated in the You Matter! podcast series that was developed by the New York University Department of Public Safety to inform the NYU community about resources that are available to victims of violence, assault or other criminal behaviors. In this podcast, Samaritans Director, Alan Ross, addresses key issues tied to preventing suicide, effective helping behaviors, the causes and impact of stigma; and the hotline, public education and support for survivors of suicide loss programs and services the organization provides.
