This year is especially notable as we celebrate our 40th anniversary.  In that time Samaritans has become a lifeline for New Yorkers. Whether it’s the 1.3 million calls answered by our hotline volunteers, the thousands who have found solace at our support groups or our suicide prevention education program that has trained over 40,000 individuals— Samaritans has maintained our unwavering support for the mental health needs of our community. 

To mark this momentous occasion this year’s Soirée will be our biggest and most exciting event yet! Held at the spectacular 230 Fifth Penthouse, there will be mouth-watering hor d’oevres, live entertainment, a premium open bar, a fabulous silent auction and breathtaking views of NYC’s skyline.

Proceeds help fund NYC’s 24-hour suicide prevention hotline, which answers 75,000 calls a year, our public education programs that serve NYC schools and non-profits, and our support services for those who have been touched by suicide.

Not sure what to donate? Auction items usually fall into three categories:

  1. Experiences: event tickets, travel (airfare, transferrable airline miles, hotel/ holiday home accommodation, luxury transportation etc.), wine tastings, spas packages, restaurant gift certificates, etc.
  2. Services: private chef in your home, recording session, personal training sessions, etc.
